WHEN IT'S BROUGHT DOWN TO BELIEF - VICTORY IS INEVITABLE

WHEN IT'S BROUGHT DOWN TO BELIEF - VICTORY IS INEVITABLE

There is a principle that has held true and unfailing for all who have understood, embraced and applied it - If think you can you will, if you think you can't you won't. I'm sitting here thinking and looking at recent events in the world of football, one just has to love the good and right fitting analogy modern sport makes to illustrate principles of successful existence.

Antonio Conte, the man in charge of Chelsea FC is passionate about his job one can just tell by watching the man as he deals with his charges from the touch-line and his responsiveness to all things football especially towards his team, however despite his known capabilities as far as Chelsea football club is concerned he had
been operating in the shadow of his predecessor, the great Jose Mourinho, the special one. Numbers always tell and they don't lie so they have told again.

Indeed Mou is a legend and towering giant in his own right but his parked records at Chelsea couldn't stand forever when there are currently active members who know them and view them as a standard and setting of the  bar, if they are to really be regarded as successful they would have to surpass the old monumental records of their predecessors and they did!
Conte set fire to the records of Mou and obliterated the shadow. When Chelsea beat Man
Utd in the FA cup encounter Conte had 13 straight home wins and 13 wins in a row under his belt then. Jamie Carragher was quoted as saying "It feels like Conte's Chelsea now.....he's banished the ghost of Mourinho" & the the story goes on about the man sports journalists say slipped under the radar when the news was abuzz with the arrival of Guardiola and Klopp to the EPL.

Dear reader please note that this is not about heaping praises on Chelsea and Conte or throwing shade, it is purely analogy of the principle of  belief, internally built confidence and instilling in others the ability to conjure self belief the way we see it with Conte and his men. Mou is and will always be the special one even for the writer.

Bringing the analogy closer to home Caps united football club of Zimbabwe affectionately known as
the green machine or makepekepe by  its followers last week knocked out the formidable five time champions TP Mazembe from the CAF champions league.

Caps were underdogs in every sense compared to TP Mazembe except the  internal conviction of the men in green and white. They went to the Mazembe home ground in Lubumbashi and managed a draw bagging an away goal, that was a feat already but they went on to hold TP Mazembe to a goalless draw at the National Sports Stadium in Harare knocking them out in the process.

The coach Lloyd Chitembwe heaped praises on his charges and said IT ALL COMES DOWN TO BELIEF. The team had faith and prepared for their opponents and won against the odds. It was a spirited performance by a less fancied team. There is so much depth and meaning to the coach's statement above.
What are you up against today to realise your mission and goals of life? Do you believe you can and you will? or you are quaking and shaking in your boots shrinking in front of your challenge? Either way it comes to belief if you believe you can win you win and if you lack belief victory will remain elusive and unachievable.

It is not always about dealing with external giants but silencing the doubting timid voice within us through preparation and unwavering faith. When we come up against opposition no matter how formidable
we draw from our deep well of belief and we prevail because our hearts and minds so focused will coordinate our bodies to calculated winning action.

Doubt and fear cannot be wished away but can be overcome by doing things that build confidence and rising up from the canvas to fight again each time when challenges floor us. Eventually we become stronger than our challenges and knock them out emphatically thereby establishing self belief and proving to ourselves that we are able to withstand challenges and win even against odds.

In the face of your challenges are you able to stand and overcome today? It is possible to raise your faith and win, indeed it all comes down to belief.

Henry Ford once said "Whether you think you can or you can't, either way you are right" What is your choice today?
