Zimbabwe land of my birth, Zimbabwe our motherland! Land of beauty and tranquility. Your children are known and renowned beyond borders and over the vast seas to be hardworking and peace loving. Oh beloved Zimbabwe! Today you are 36! Uhuru uhuru we acclaim!

Today we celebrate 36 years of sovereignty and independence as Zimbabwe as a nation and a people. In the eyes of many Zimbabwe, you were once a gem of Africa, a breadbasket turned basket case! To us you were our home and motherland then, you are our home and motherland today, you shall be home and motherland tomorrow! Our beloved Zimbabwe

Time waits for no man and history does not stop being recorded in unfavourable times, @ 36 Zimbabwe you are grappling and struggling with a myriad of challenges, hungry jobless citizens watching in distress as a few seem to enjoy it all in fancy mansions and luxurious living. Yes we cannot enrich the poor by impoverishing the rich because no real progress would be made.

There are many men and women of faith in your sons and daughters Zimbabwe who pray day and night for the relief of afflictions and wherewithal to overcome all challenges and the Lord of Sabaoth
hears them with mercy and grace.

The Almighty ancient of days watches over you Zimbabwe even at such a time as this. Keep the faith and exalt Him above all things in due season the Lord restores. Ebenezer @ 36 Zimbabwe thus far hath the Lord taken us to him be the glory and honour.

Zimbabwe @ 36 our homeland, the beautiful motherland. As the story of Africa rising and standing firm in the world affirming herself, Zimbabwe rises in tandem with Africa charting new growth paths and development plans, executing new ideas reaching new milestones and frontiers.
Rise Zimbabwe rise! In the face of all challenges and controversies arise and break new grounds make the most of your endowments and natural resources your sons and daughters shall introspect and forsake corrupt ways for the common good,  the wicked and corrupt minds shall be overtaken and run over by the juggernaut of new creative thinking willing to put Zimbabwe before self gratification and thriving for the collective good and collective benefit.

 Zimbabwe @ 36! a nation growing as it's going. We are proudly Zimbabwean learning everyday to surmount challenges and finding ways of weathering the storms to achieve our aspirations and objectives, partnering with sincere right standing  neighbors and friends to fully tap and realise the potential and latent talents of all Africans also enjoying uhuru status like us which all came through hard fought protracted struggles and wars with erstwhile colonial regimes.

Arise Zimbabwe arise Africa! Uhuru uhuru we are sovereign we are free, no more racial segregation and oppression, many thanks and praises for the galant men and women, yes sons and daughters of the soil who braved it all and went all out fighting the oppressor to win for us Uhuru to win for us  a new name, Zimbabwe! No longer Rhodesia, but Zimbabwe! Thank you Thank you we salute them all today!

Yes mistakes have been made and grave errors, sins of commission and omission by ourselves in our own land, realisation and hard lessons are being learnt from the consequences of our poor decisions and shortcomings.

Some nations appoint themselves prefects and head-boys of the global school of countries and confess other nations' sins yet their own hands are dripping and their whole bodies drenched in the blood of defenseless and less powerful nations invaded and runover in missions disguised as  noble causes in apparent bids to save them from themselves. The wake of these missions is both disheartening and heart rending, chaotic ghostly scenes of places once lush and beautiful, yes they had problems like any other establishment but their present state is more than one big problem on its own. They are real eyesores.

Its uhuru Zimbabwe @ 36 it's celebration yes but the road is still long and winding requiring vigilance and digging deeper to find real lasting and beneficial solutions to obtaining challenges facing the homeland our motherland our Zimbabwe!

@ 36 we surely can look in the mirror and judge ourselves with views to forge ahead better informed and guided by our own practical lessons. Tackling our problems head on with no denial and delusion whatsoever taking our nation forward and consolidating the gains of this very independence we are celebrating today!
