HERE'S THE SECRET OF INNOVATION & REALISING DREAMS - GUTS OVER FEAR!

HERE'S THE SECRET OF INNOVATION & REALISING DREAMS - GUTS OVER FEAR! As much as humanity has made great strides in leaps and bounds bringing about and refining civilisation, I am very sure that still many dreams and innovative ideas suffer at the clutches of fear and die due to the paralysis it causes in the hearts and minds of those that carry them. It is wonderful that we are seeing more and more people rise above their fears and pursue their innovative ideas and things that they are passionate about. The secret and special ingredient that gets the dreams realised - guts over fear! You take your chances, step over your fears, ignore the self-doubt and do it anyway! It is better to cross the line of your fears and suffer the consequences than to just stare at that line for the rest of your life wondering "what if?" because either way someone will step over their fears and do something similar or even not as sophisticated as you would have done but they will be

WHEN THE BUCK STOPS WITH YOU - DON'T PASS IT, IT'S A HIDDEN OPPORTUNITY!

WHEN THE BUCK STOPS WITH YOU  - DON'T PASS IT, IT'S A HIDDEN OPPORTUNITY Whoever allows the buck to stop with them and takes it on is already a winner. Yes!  because any who solves a problem or resolves a matter is a winner and a good student of life. Quite often we duck and dive for fear of blame and being burdened with finding solutions to problems that would have been caused  by other people. However the fact that the buck is headed to us means that we somehow have something to do with the problem one way or another. So let's own up for our part and see that there's an opportunity to be seized, help the timid and unprepared fellow associates and acquaintances who can't own up and choose to pass the buck by standing up and taking initiative to solve it. Once the buck is parked at your door, panic and mayhem around you stops in anticipation of the solution from you. Without the pressure of being assigned blame everyone involved in the matter is in a better posit

OVERCOMING OBSTACLES; DRAWING STRENGTH AND DIRECTION FROM PREVIOUS VICTORIES

OVERCOMING OBSTACLES; DRAWING STRENGTH AND DIRECTION FROM PREVIOUS VICTORIES The second time around in any situation is never as scary as the first time, the difference maker - experience. Experience is the best teacher, the expression may be old and a cliché but it is as true as ever. The lessons are vital and the personal reference is valid for a lifetime. One good method of overcoming obstacles in all circumstances is drawing strength and direction from previous victories. If one finds themselves in dire straits and wondering how to overcome stubborn obstacles it helps to pause for a moment and travel back in time in one's mind to those times when one achieved great victories and overcame what had initially seemed immovable and formidable obstacles. Recreate in the mind the prevailing atmosphere at that moment back in time, retrace the steps you took, identify the source of strength and encouragement at the time and bring it to the present moment. Map out that old path to

CELEBRATE ALL YOUR MILESTONES, HERE'S WHY?

CELEBRATE ALL YOUR MILESTONES, HERE'S WHY? Milestone; literally it is a stone post by the roadside to mark distances and figuratively it is a significant event marking a change or state in development. Milestones deserve momentary pauses when they happen, for recognition, acknowledgement and celebration. They are like small victories won on the way to the big achievement, celebrating the  small victories emboldens us to look ahead with conviction and courage building upon them to attain the ultimate goal. What are the milestones in your life, your career and personal development? Point them out and stop whenever you reach them one by one to celebrate and express gratitude to all those and all that has worked in your favour cooperating to bring you to the particular milestone. Give thanks to the Almighty and savour the moment. Some milestones we reach by our own tenacious effort and decision while other milestones we reach through the natural progression of life like jubilees

WHENEVER YOU'RE REJECTED HERE'S WHAT TO THINK

WHENEVER YOU'RE REJECTED HERE'S WHAT TO THINK Rejection never feels good in any form be it professionally or in other interactions we have with other people as individuals. However the indisputable truth about it is that it is simply negative feedback. One's best effort to achieve a favorable response in an engagement is never guaranteed to result in the desired outcome due to reasons beyond one's control. The other party's reasons do not necessarily mean one's effort is void of merit and substance, simply that it is  inconsistent with their expectations. The most common forms of rejection in business and professional settings include declined applications for admission, unsuccessful job interviews and business proposals turned down, such occurrences often leave us hurting, disappointed and even bitter sometimes because they deal a blow to our emotions. However the lesson here and good stance to adopt  is that rejection is not eternal condemnation from the o

Happy fathers day, fathers 19th of June 2016

Happy Fathers' day, Fathers! - 19th  of June 2016 So profound and deep is the meaning and role of the word "father" in our lives, even a representation of it is termed "father figure" so this message of celebration goes to all those who fill the office of "father" by their deeds, calling, and natural biological fathers who are fully conscious and active participating men doing their part in the lives of people they procreated and brought into this world. We even begin the Lord's prayer by saying "Our father" addressing our creator, such is the profound meaning and depth of the word and the position of "father" in our existence, this therefore is a reminder to all the fathers that it's playing in a big league if one is to have a name by which we also address our God. He has called us to be like Him and let us in to share his name as fathers, may we strive therefore everyday to uphold this name and not bring it into disrep

HARMONISING & SYNCHRONISING THE ZIMBABWEAN  ECONOMIC SPACE - FINANCIAL MARKETS INDABA, SANGANAI HLANGANI EXPO JUNE 2016 Harmony, homogeneity and synchronicity are fundamental to the creation of effective plans and policies that result in desirable, envisaged positive results in a big multi sectoral economic space Quite often entrepreneurs and potential investors are men and women with a good eye for economic opportunities, they see hidden economic potential and put their resources on the line in anticipation of positive returns on their investment albeit with a calculated level of risk. CHILDREN OF MY SOUL - MY DREAMS

CHILDREN OF MY SOUL - MY DREAMS My dreams are the children of my soul, conceived in my mind and nurtured by my passion and constructive thoughts, born into the imaginative realm of my being I have seen them in full colour and felt their substance, by faith I bring them into existence in the realm of the physical, a second birth a dream come true! To the onlookers it often seems to be an instant birth or lucky break but the truth is it's been long in the making in the refining depths of my soul....a refined dream come true! I pursue my dreams with passion, I never let up I sleep I live I breathe my dream I nurture it because it is a child of my soul and my soul will not abandon its child, the child will grow to its fullest and the fullest is it's coming through that we may all look and behold the power of a dream come true. My dreams are beautiful, I believe in them because the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. I picture them in my mind, hold

PAY IT FORWARD AND KEEP IT GOING!

PAY IT FORWARD & KEEP IT GOING! Somewhere, somehow we have all used a bit of help from someone or a whole lot of it in some instances. In Ndebele we say "izandla ziyagezana" meaning that "one hand washes another" an attempt to wash a dirty hand on its own is just clumsy and ineffective compared to two hands washing each other thoroughly clean. So it is with people and life, we learn to help others and ask for help when we need it. To say "please" and "thank you" are good manners of one who understands the concept and substance of giving and receiving help. To say thank you is a direct acknowledgement of help from another person, it could just end there and life goes on, however an even bigger way of expressing one's gratitude and showing the extent of help received is by paying it forward! Yes! That is giving help to the next person who could use it other than the one you got it from. When someone pulls us out of a hole we say thank

SERVICE VERSUS SELF SERVING, THE LEADERSHIP GREY AREAS - WHO'S THE JUDGE?

Service versus self serving, the leadership grey areas - who's the judge? Leading a group of people means being involved in championing the cause and common good they seek albeit from a position of authority and trust over them. You are enabled and allowed to exercise control and determine the direction of affairs concerning the group. Resources are placed at your disposal in confidence and in trust that you use them to help move the group's cause forward. Herein begins the grey area, a place where your judgement and integrity is put to test. How do you marshall the resources entrusted to you? Does the group benefit from every transaction you undertake using these resources or it is you and your personal aspirations that gain from them? You are your own judge! No one is guarding the guard because you are the guard, your leadership fabric is tested and ultimately revealed. Self serving manifests when you subordinate the common good to personal aspiration. The resources are m

REFLECTION POINTS - LOOK OUT!

REFLECTION POINTS - LOOK OUT! From time to time in the course of daily living we come across unusual  moments where we find ourselves in a place off the beaten path and sometimes under scary circumstances and we each ask ourselves " how did I get here?" We look around and evaluate trying to find answers to this question. I have come to call such moments "reflection points" for therein always lies a lesson and valuable insight for the individual to takeaway going forward. Instead of going into panic mode, when one realises these moments and calmly accepts them knowing that they have come to teach and leave them enlightened one sees a positive opportunity where fearful eyes  would have seen doom. Picture this for a moment; In your high strung busy schedule which often makes you feel like the whole world is resting on your shoulders you're driving your very modern reliable car with a good service record, quickly trying to reach a meeting in the next town for

YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO BE HERE; IT'S A BIG ENOUGH WORLD AFTER ALL

You have a right to be here; It's a big enough world after all It's a big world indeed,  we each can find and carve a niche for ourselves and realise our aspirations no matter where we've been. Nobody needs anyone's permission to think. Everyone has a free will to decide courses of action to take daily be they small or big. Alliances, collaboration and cooperation are matters of individual choice. Consideration of one's choices and their implications as well as effects on the external environment are marks of self mastery and social responsibility. However when considerations have been made and options weighed one still has the freedom to make a decision. To the extent of making decisions and choosing one's course it is indeed a big free world. A big free world with enough room for all of us to exist and live pursuing our individual and collective endeavors. Whilst some entities and individuals in society load it over others forcing them to believe that s

Get the winning attitude - gratitude!

The Winning Attitude - Gratitude! Waking up alive everyday we feel the newness of another day with all the endless possibilities a new day brings. In light of the possibilities, the best stance to adopt is gratitude for all the things working together for our good, healthy bodies, good shelter, comfortable clothing, food on our tables, shoes on our feet, and belongingness to communities of people who care about us. These are the basic elements of our existence which makes us dignified human beings. Without any of them we get a taste of misery in that particular area and it becomes a need to us. However gratitude for life itself and the other elements we have even when one is missing puts us in good standing to realise and be able to attain the missing element. With an attitude of gratitude we maintain a positive mindset and spare ourselves anxiety and worry which drains our energy and makes us feel helpless. "Count your blessings, name them one by one..." So goes a
