WHEN THE BUCK STOPS WITH YOU  - DON'T PASS IT, IT'S A HIDDEN OPPORTUNITY

Whoever allows the buck to stop with them and takes it on is already a winner. Yes!  because any who solves a problem or resolves a matter is a winner and a good student of life.
Quite often we duck and dive for fear of blame and being burdened with finding solutions to problems that would have been caused  by other people. However the fact that the buck is headed to us means that we somehow have something to do with the problem one way or another. So let's own up for our part and see that there's an opportunity to be seized, help the timid and unprepared fellow associates and acquaintances who can't own up and choose to pass the buck by standing up and taking initiative to solve it. Once the buck is parked at your door, panic and mayhem around you stops in anticipation of the solution from you. Without the pressure of being assigned blame everyone involved in the matter is in a better position to cooperate towards finding the best solution to the problem even a crisis, rope in the team and get all the facts, the solution is never far from the source of the problem, quite often it's the fear of owning up which causes passing of the buck. Once that is out of the way the situation gets handled and a solution is found.
What would have initially come your way as blame and trouble in capital letters, you bravely stood up to and found a solution for becomes a great show of team spirit and leadership.
Whether you're the team leader or a member of the team letting the buck stop with you instils courage and confidence in the whole team. Taking one for the team reveals strength of character and selflessness, it brings fulfillment when the eventual overall result is victory for the team despite the controversy and challenges encountered along the way. If you are a designated leader then know that the buck will stop with you very often and you will learn to solve all manner of problems and situations even some that are not of your own creation but would be best solved by you once and for all.
An ordinary team member with a stomach for problem solving and not dodging the buck will inevitably eventually find themselves in the team leadership.
One leader famously known for taking on the buck is the 33rd President of the United States Harry Truman who is said to have had a sign on his desk which read "The buck stops here". We too can learn to say "The buck stops here"
in our areas of work and general existence to be problem solvers.
