CELEBRATE ALL YOUR MILESTONES, HERE'S WHY?

CELEBRATE ALL YOUR MILESTONES, HERE'S WHY?

Milestone; literally it is a stone post by the roadside to mark distances and figuratively it is a significant event marking a change or state in development. Milestones deserve momentary pauses when they happen, for recognition, acknowledgement and celebration.
They are like small victories won on the way to the big achievement, celebrating the  small victories emboldens us to look ahead with conviction and courage building upon them to attain the ultimate goal.
What are the milestones in your life, your career and personal development? Point them out and stop whenever you reach them one by one to celebrate and express gratitude to all those and all that has worked in your favour cooperating to bring you to the particular milestone. Give thanks to the Almighty and savour the moment.
Some milestones we reach by our own tenacious effort and decision while other milestones we reach through the natural progression of life like jubilees and birthdays.
On the eve of my 30th birthday I'm living the last hours of my 20's with much gratitude for all that I have been, done and had. It is the sunset of an era and the dawn of a brand new one. I am celebrating this milestone. The sojourning men of the Biblical times often reached great milestones and made sure to mark them and even give them new names signifying the meaningfulness of the milestone to them, one such famous milestone was set by Samuel after the Lord wrought a great victory for His people over the Philistines, I quote;
"[12] Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Eben-ezer, saying, Hitherto hath the Lord helped us." 1 Samuel 7:12 KJV
Like Samuel I celebrate today, hitherto hath the Lord brought me, ebenezer!
It is the same with all other significant events in our existence, our graduation, our first professional appointment, our wedding,our first child, the completion of a manuscript and all other meaningful occurrences in our lives.
In business it would be our first deal, our IPO, breaking into the fortune 500, our first dividend payout and the list goes on. As growing and developing beings, we are driven by achievement and progress, sometimes we quit due to little progress on our projects and endeavors not realising that little progress is better than no progress at all, it counts, celebrate it and aim for the next point. With each little victory and step in the right direction the giant mountain is scaled, even the mighty Mount Everest is scaled one step at a time.
Celebrating milestones even the small ones makes us feel good on the inside, we are happy with the result of our effort and get determination to go on and aim higher. We are convinced that victory is attainable and we get a foretaste of the ultimate victory.

Therefore; despise not your small victories, savour them and use the feeling to spur you on to your ultimate dream.
