REFLECTION POINTS - LOOK OUT!

REFLECTION POINTS - LOOK OUT!

From time to time in the course of daily living we come across unusual  moments where we find ourselves in a place off the beaten path and sometimes under scary circumstances and we each ask ourselves " how did I get here?"
We look around and evaluate trying to find answers to this question. I have come to call such moments "reflection points" for therein always lies a lesson and valuable insight for the individual to takeaway going forward.
Instead of going into panic mode, when one realises these moments and calmly accepts them knowing that they have come to teach and leave them enlightened one sees a positive opportunity where fearful eyes  would have seen doom.

Picture this for a moment; In your high strung busy schedule which often makes you feel like the whole world is resting on your shoulders you're driving your very modern reliable car with a good service record, quickly trying to reach a meeting in the next town for a "life and death" project. Suddenly the car stutters and grinds to a halt in the middle of nowhere, you pullover and do the normal checks for common car problems and you find none so you call for roadside assistance. You are very late for the meeting and you try to call the person you were supposed to meet and the call goes to voicemail. Finally you get into the car and sit waiting for roadside assistance to come and it dawns on you that you're really stuck your nerves calm down and your mind starts paying attention to the surroundings you see the beautiful lilies by the wayside and just a little further you see a sparkling creek which you go and sit by leaving your breakdown triangles appropriately placed in front and behind the car. The sound of the creek is calming and soothing as you sit admiring the surroundings. You mind gets clear like the creek at your feet and you feel a release of all the tension within you and ideas start  flowing in your mind.

Just behind you by the roadside you hear the the sound of the roadside assistance truck siren signaling to you. Finally help has arrived and you're feeling a burst of new energy. You think to yourself maybe that deal you were chasing has fallen through but the ideas you now have are worth ten times more than that deal. Your car is sorted and off you go!
That was our example there, it may not always be as dramatic as this however the point remains the same; those moments that disrupt your high strung momentum suddenly are vital points of reflection. When they show up embrace them and use them to reflect on your direction and priorities. They bring a reality check for us and awakening from a kind of paranoia  resulting from daily pressures taking over our lives.
Reflection points are for the individual, look out and grow from them!
