HEAR THIS ONE MORE TIME; PREPARATON IS KEY FOR BOTH PLANS AND DREAMS ALIKE NO MATTER THE STARTING POINT

HEAR THIS ONE MORE TIME; PREPARATION IS KEY FOR BOTH PLANS & DREAMS ALIKE NO MATTER  THE STARTING POINT

"I will prepare, and someday my chance will come". These are the words of a man who belongs to the ages, an iconic man whose impact on humanity continues to reverberate through generations ad-infinitum,
President Abraham Lincoln of the United States of America.

Sometimes we know what we yearn for and have a fire within to move in the direction of that which we yearn for. However it is not always a straight forward or clear cut path linking our starting point and our envisaged end point. We may assess ourselves personally and our circumstances generally and almost  get convinced that we are merely dreaming to pass time because of the seeming impossibility of achieving the dream. No matter how dire or impossible it appears initially, we should always know that all thoughts that we entertain in our minds held and nurtured long enough nourished with encouragement, faith and passion have the ability to materialise into reality.

Generally for us human beings "seeing is believing"  and the "proof of the  pudding is in the eating" are just two sayings and idioms among many others which assert that we want to prove and test things for ourselves before we accept them as true.

So to test and prove the assertion above that our thoughts and aspirations can be nurtured to reality each one of us is free to look around and identify people whom we feel and see to have reached particular noteworthy milestones even by our own standards as the observers and enquire politely without interrogating
if they would mind sharing how they achieved what they did. Certainly the consistent pattern of dreaming, vision, preparation, focus, persistence, hard-work and patience shows up no matter where the person is from or who they are. Sometimes we rubbish examples of celebrity achievers as too far from home due to circumstantial differences hence the idea to personally identify an achiever and inquire for oneself.

Now when we agree and accept the  theory as practical and applicable to our own situations we then move to the gist of this piece; PREPARATION IS KEY! One ought to know that everyday that comes by is an opportunity to draw at least one decisive step closer to that which one is looking to achieve, when the day ends one ought to account to the self and report on the movement made during a particular day towards one's  specific  goal.

Ask, ask, ask and ask again along the way because asking is part of continuous preparation stage by stage, we learn of the resources that must be put together, processes to be followed and all the relevant tasks to be executed. There is no guarantee however that all the questions and requests will get positive responses when we ask, some responses maybe downright rude and nasty, some just indifferent or worse still we may be totally ignored. That's where persistence and perseverance come in to carry us through as we move on and keep asking.

Eventually we notice the formation of a traceable time-line of our activity stage by stage preparing and getting ourselves ready for our day when we hit the milestone and a dream becomes true, once abstract and deemed figments of one's heated imagination by the naysayers it all becomes real, visible and certainly tangible because of the constant preparation and sustenance of the vision.

Success happens when opportunity meets preparation because in preparation we know what we are on the lookout for and expecting to see such that when it does show up we know exactly what to do without blinking, we go for it and hit the home run because we would have been envisaging that moment over and over in our mind whilst practising and preparing all our faculties for it physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. However without preparation even if the the golden moment called opportunity hit us in the face and knocked us down we wouldn't know until we pick ourselves up only to realise that the one thing we had yearned for just came past us and it is gone for good all for lack of preparation.

The above is true for both plans and dreams because eventually dreams boil down to plans when one decides to chase them and make them a reality. There is a common four "P" formula for success which is Pray, Prepare, Plan and Pursue. This formula though
common and cliche-like is just spot on and anyone who likes may test it and see where it will lead them.

Preparation makes us take stock of ourselves and make real assessment of our situation such that we know who we really are, our strengths and weaknesses stand out giving us the chance to work on ourselves and in preparation remedy our weaknesses lest they become our achilles heel when opportunity comes our way and we make a poor showing as done by the unprepared.
We pause therefore at this juncture and ask ourselves; "From where I am standing right now, do I know what ought to be done for me to reach my goal-point? If my answer is yes, we ask further and say; "How much have I done thus far and what am I doing right now?" We answer those questions with sober minds and get down to serious business for the sake of our passion, our dream our success.
