DO WE SEE & REALISE THE VALUE OF GOODWILL AMONG ALL OF US IN SOCIETY? - IT IS POWERFUL
The benefits of  Goodwill accrue to make the world a better place. That helpful, cooperative feeling and attitude from within a person fosters collaboration and breeds common good.
The positive externalities of our exercising goodwill are exponential and the results have greater visible effects as the scale grows larger. Goodwill among family members turn a house into a home, starting with one person making concerted effort and not giving up too soon another member buys in and it becomes a way of life for the family, everyone taking actions with positive effects and considering the people around them.
Goodwill among neighbors in a suburb,location and village turn it into a community where people take responsibility for their actions and actually think considerately before taking action because somehow our actions and transactions affect other people one way or another. A man of goodwill in a remote village with limited access to water is blessed with well breeding livestock, he sells some of his cattle and drills a borehole for his household and animals, he goes on to put out a tap outside his home for fellow villagers to fetch water, he suggests to the villagers to make small contributions and set up drinking troughs for their animals in a convenient spot drawing water from his borehole. The villagers from goodwill among themselves buy into the idea and soon the village is a much better place and the communal life improves.
 Goodwill is power, goodwill is an ingredient for success in any setting were two or more people interact be it professionally, politically, socially or religiously. Goodwill is maturity in the human race, rising above selfishness, unfair business practices and intentions of manipulation and exploitation of others. Goodwill is both the cornerstone and foundation of win-win transactions and engagements.
Philanthropists express messages of goodwill as they go about their work, reputable statesman and leaders foster it, preach it and exercise it towards and among those whom they lead.
Anyone in any situation can choose to exercise goodwill and make it a way of life if we can realise that it has more benefits than selfish and one sided transactions which may be completely legal yet lack the goodwill element. In the longrun everyone is a loser in the wake of  such occurrences. Profiteering, unfair labour practices, collusion and monopolistic behaviour are practices that society engages in which are totally devoid of goodwill. One may record relative gain in the immediate but the longterm effects are regressive.
 Goodwill among people is possible and beneficial, society functions and thrives where there is goodwill, an example is set for those who are cynical and skeptical owing to previous negative experiences.
It begins with each one of us in our spaces to be people of goodwill, we all stand to benefit and grow from it as individuals, communities and the whole world. Peace and goodwill to all people everywhere!
